Mshell, Applicazioni Stand Alone

Is it possible to create a stand alone program, with it's own icon so that I don't have to go through the process of loading up mShell and running the script?

Yes that will be possible in the near future.

Steps to create a stand alone program will be the following:

- m script can be compiled and mShell can be called with a "hide" parameter.

- To start mShell in this manner you have to create a small stub application which contains the custom icon, app. name and its own UID. We will provide a template for convenience.

- The stub has to be compiled, linked and sis-packed (and may Symbian Signed) for the desired platform (S60, S60 3rd, UIQ2, UIQ3).

- At the end you will have a ready to install sis-file. The clever thing is that we will provide an update mechanism for the compiled m scripts and modules which makes up the application functionality. If the user has ones installed your application you are able to provide updates or bug fixes without having them to reinstall the whole Symbian application. The updater will be a m script using the net (TCP/IP networking) functionality.

Ha chiesto ora se dovrà per forza essere installato mShell per avviare le applicazioni o se sarà possibile avere soltanto l'applicazione, e inoltre ha chiesto se sarà possibile proteggere il codice dalle modifiche... in attesa di risposta............

a essere sincero a me non interessa tanto che il programma abbia l'icona, a me piacerebbe che si potesse utilizzare anche il tasto destro del menu

Sarebbe interessante al fine di diffondere meglio i programmi...

Avrebbero un successo migliore con un'icona nel menù, perchè purtroppo sono ritenuti programmi di seconda categoria, per il fatto che si deve passare per un altro punto per avviarli...
